My name is Jean Papo and welcome to the
Abytopia Abyssinians website, created
to showcase my journey towards becoming an Abyssinian breeder
of top quality
show cats. I have been involved with the Abyssinian ever since
I fell in love with
my first ruddy Abyssinian kitten almost twelve years ago...my
beloved T-Rex. He
still cuddles up with me at night, paw around my neck and
gives me a big slobbery
kiss with a mischievious twinkle to his eye. From that moment
on, I was hooked.
When a friend of mine took me to my first aby show in about
2003 or so, I
saw the most beautiful aby's in the world, and then I think
a little of that
magical show stardust fell on me, and it became my goal to
someday own,
breed and show the results of my own version of aby heaven
materialized here
on earth.
I saw that breeding, raising and showing Abyssinians, affectionately
known as Aby's,
is not only great fun, but it involves a lot of help from
friends, good luck, and hard work. Things don't always turn
out the way we hope and misfortune can be the flip side of
this
passion....However, I've had plenty of advice and some handholding
through some
perilous moments, and all in all, there is more joy than heartache
in the endless quest
to succeed in breeding the perfect Abyssinian. Thanks go to
all my friends and fellow Abyssinian breeders who have helped
me along this fascinating journey.
In 2005, my Foundation Queen, CH Fin Bheara Cote d'Azure of
Abytopia, aka
Zoozoo, bred with GC NW Gulfco's Sweet Talkin' Guy of Alexy,
DM, produced two
beautiful fawn Abyssinian kittens. The experience is all that
I had hoped it would be
and more. These Abyssinian kittens are, in my biased opinion,
little angels.
Time will tell if I succeed with my goal,
you will be the judges, but, in
the meantime, this journey has blessed me with hours of happiness,
joy and
positive feelings about the future that lies ahead of my Abyssinian
cats and me!
Please take a look around my site where
you can see my current Abyssinian Queens,
Ladies in Waiting, Pets, Kittens and Cat Photography. Thank's
for participating in my site!
I'd love to hear from you at any time.
